Consummate Colour Capture
Another extremely important factor in creating dazzling photography is colour representation. The D80 uses an intelligent colour processing system called 3D Colour Matrix Metering II. Instead of merely measuring or averaging scene lighting, the D80 evaluates it by comparing it to a database of over 30,000 reference-pictures - all in a fraction of a second. This gives you the most accurate colour reproduction, rather than an estimate of what it should look like. This feature is enhanced by the Advanced Automatic White Balance feature which automatically adjusts your white balance settings. You can also select one of six presets, or use a gray or white object as your white balance source.
